Easy As…Pie

In my family, we take pecan pie seriously!  My mom quit a lucrative career as a realtor, to perfect her ***secret*** pecan pie recipe.  That dedication paid off and earned her a National Pie championship title, in 2014.  She started her gourmet pie company and the rest is sweet history.  Her company, Farrist of Them All, is already sold out online for the rest of 2017.  Urban Farmhouse will carry her product in our OKC store during Thanksgiving and Christmas, for the lucky few that get one.  My version is a little less labor intensive with the help of a store-bought pie crust.  It cuts down on time but not on flavor.  If you are a food snob and cannot bear to use store-bought pie crust–fellow Oklahoman, Ree Drummond, has a classic version here…

 

Cherami's Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie
It's the season of all things yummy and sweet, so we thought we'd give you a little recipe to try out for the holidays! This pecan pie recipe is so simple and fast - You're sure to impress anyone who takes a bite! Just follow these step-by-step instructions and you'll have a freshly baked Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie in no time.

Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350° before you begin your steps!
  2. Unroll one of the refrigerated pie crusts and spread it out along the bottom of your pie pan. Smooth out any folds and bubbles as best you can!
  3. Sprinkle your chocolate chips evenly along the bottom of the pie pan.
  4. Spread out pecans evenly on top of the chocolate chips.
  5. Dump all of your liquid ingredients in a mixing bowl and give them a good whisk!
  6. Place all dry ingredients in a separate mixing bowl and stir well with a spoon.
  7. Combine your liquid and dry ingredients and mix well.
  8. Pour mixture into your pie crust pan.
  9. Fluff pecans and allow them to float to the top. Take a fork and flip them pretty side up, so the final pie product looks like it was baked by a real pro!
  10. Pop your pie into the oven and bake at 350° for 1 hour.
  11. Pose for a picture....
  12. ...and allow your pie to cool completely and enjoy!
